Hollywood actor Timothee Chalamet was recently named the Best Actor for his performance in the film Mary Supreme, inspired by the life and career of American table tennis player Marty Reisman. This was special because it marked his first Critics’ Choice win after four previous nominations. During his acceptance speech, Timothee Chalamet gave a wholesome shoutout to his fellow nominees, including Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Joel Edgerton and Wagner Moura, before taking his partner’s name. Dedicating his win to Kylie Jenner, he said, “Thank you to my partner for three years. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you,” while looking at her. The camera quickly panned onto Jenner’s emotional face as she smiled and clasped her hands beneath her chin, mouthing “I love you” in response.
Chalamet also complimented Marty Supreme’s director, producer, and co-writer, Josh Safdie. Chalamet described the film’s emotional heart, saying, “Josh, you crafted a tale about a flawed man with a relatable goal; you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s good and bad, and I believe we should all be producing stories like that. So thank you for the dream.”
