The Untamed Actor Wang Yibo Reveals Decision Behind Long Hiatus From Acting

Yibo gained popularity by starring in hit Chinese dramas like The Untamed, War of Faith,  Being A Hero, etc. However, his fans were waiting for the actor’s comeback patiently as he took a hiatus from acting for over 500 days, releasing no new projects.

A confession about the matter from Wang Yibo during an episode of his reality show, Exploring The Unknown with Wang Yibo, has caught fans off guard. The actor revealed that because he worked so much in two years, he told himself that he needed to take a break. Yibo said that after filming the first season of his reality show, his mindset changed a lot and he realised this is the type of life he needs to live.

Yibo’s reality show follows the actor who travels through extreme geographic destinations and embarks on adventures. Season 1 of Exploring The Unknown with Wang Yibo took over 20 months to film as Wang Yibo travelled everywhere, from the dense rainforests to the snowy peaks of China.

According to reports, the risk factor for these locations was so high that multiple companies refused to cover medical insurance. Season 2 of the reality show will follow Yibo traverse the Rocky Mountains of North America.

Fans of The Untamed actor praised his decision. They understood the reason why Wang Yibo decided to step away from the limelight temporarily, because the Chinese entertainment industry can sometimes become very taxing if an actor’s popularity is similar to Yibo’s.
