Netizens Fact Check Yu Menglong’s Viral Autopsy Report Posted On Weibo
According to a report by Star EBC, the autopsy report image first appeared on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, and the poster claimed that this was Yu Menglong’s official autopsy report released by Jiangtai Police Station in Beijing. The autopsy document listed that the case was accepted for investigation on 13 September, with the results being submitted on 14 September.
In the report, it is alleged that Menglong suffered several serious injuries, like skull trauma and rib fractures. The cause of his death was likely due to be because of these injuries.
Yu Menglong’s alleged autopsy report instantly went viral on Chinese social media platforms. However, some netizens questioned the validity of the document. People noticed that some sections of this autopsy report were copied entirely from medical documents that circulated earlier this year. Others said that it is similar to a report that was published back in 2012.
Fans also point out that Yu Menglong’s family allegedly only received the actor’s ashes, not his body. This is the main reason why the internet is suspicious about the origin of this report. People are now urged not to spread unverified information related to the Chinese actor’s death.
