BTS’ highly anticipated album Arirang is coming soon, and the excitement is huge. But when Netflix released trailers for the documentary, some fans became angry. They noticed that some scenes with Jimin were missing from certain versions. Read on to know all about it!
BTS: THE RETURN Trailer Sparks Massive Backlash, Fans Furious Over Jimin’s Edited Scenes!
On March 16, Netflix shared the official trailer for BTS: THE RETURN on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, and its app. The two-minute video shows all seven members RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, meeting again in Los Angeles after their mandatory military service. They work together on Arirang, which is their first full group album in four years and showcases their unbreakable bond.
However, fans noticed something strange. The trailers on TikTok and the Netflix app had two short clips of Jimin, but those same clips were not in the versions on X and Instagram. The total time of the videos stayed the same, and no other parts looked different but only Jimin’s scenes were gone in some parts. This made fans very furious!
ARMYs around the world started sharing their feelings online. Many said it was not fair as Jimin spent his entire time making the album. They called the changes disrespectful and asked Netflix to explain why it happened. Fans also started trending hashtags on X.
For the unversed, BTS: THE RETURN, directed by Bao Nguyen, will start streaming on Netflix on March 27, 2026. The album Arirang comes out on March 20, with a live concert the next day and a world tour beginning in April. Even with this online drama, fans everywhere are super excited for BTS to be back together.
