The feud between Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and his brother Faissal Khan has again spilled out into the public domain. In an August 18 press conference, Faissal made a sensational accusation that Aamir had fathered a child with British writer Jessica Hines in his first marriage, and has now gone one step further, publicly calling for the actor to undergo a DNA test to silence him.

Faissal claimed that Aamir’s affair with Hines was from the time when he was himself married to his first wife, Reena Dutta. Aamir went on conducting the affair in secrecy before going on to wed Kiran Rao subsequently, according to him. “Everyone is aware of him being with Jessica, and she has a child from this affair. A DNA test can settle the matter.”. I have proof to back what I’m saying,” Faissal said, stressing that he wasn’t making baseless accusations.

Aamir and Reena, who married in 1986, have two children, Junaid and Ira. They divorced in 2002, an interval that Faissal recalled as tumultuous for both families. He remembered being a witness to the distancing of the couple. “Their relationship was disintegrating while Aamir was going about establishing his production company. Reena was boosting him professionally, but the marriage was crumbling,” Faissal described.

He also confessed that the divorce unsettled him personally. “When Aamir separated, I was questioned about my marriage as well, and it caused stress to me. It wasn’t easy seeing everything happen,” he said.

Aside from the accusations, Faissal was also critical of what he described as Aamir’s well-groomed public persona. He accused his brother of attempting to have a pristine reputation while keeping from view the intricacies of his personal life. “He portrays himself as clean and ideal, yet the truth is otherwise,” Faissal said.

Aamir Khan has yet to release a statement regarding Faissal’s allegations or the request for a DNA test as of yet.
