Fact Check: Did Dhanashree Verma Demand 60 Crores Alimony From Ex Husband Yuzvendra Chahal?

Recent online reports have claimed that social media influencer and dancer Dhanashree Verma demanded 60 crore as alimony from her estranged husband, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. However, Verma’s family has now issued an official statement dismissing these claims as completely baseless and urging the media to refrain from spreading misinformation.

Family Issues Statement Denying Alimony Claims

In response to the viral reports, Dhanashree’s family has strongly denied the speculation. “We are deeply outraged by these unfounded claims about the alimony figure. No such amount has been requested or discussed. It is irresponsible to circulate such false narratives, as they not only mislead the public but also cause unnecessary distress to both families,” the statement read. The family also urged media outlets to verify facts before reporting on sensitive personal matters.

Contrary to rumors that the divorce between Verma and Chahal has already been finalized, Dhanashree’s legal representative, Aditi Mohan, has clarified that the case is still ongoing. “I have no comments to make on the proceedings as the matter is currently sub judice. However, the media must exercise caution and ensure accuracy before reporting, as much of the information being circulated is misleading,” Mohan said in a statement released on Friday.

Speculations regarding the couple’s separation have been circulating for months. Reports suggest that the final hearing took place on Thursday at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai, where the judge advised them to attend a counselling session. Following the session, both Chahal and Verma reportedly confirmed their decision to part ways through mutual consent, citing compatibility issues as the reason for their separation. They allegedly informed the court that they had been living separately for the past 18 months.

While the legal proceedings continue, the viral claims regarding the alleged 60 crore alimony demand appear to be nothing more than unverified rumors, adding unnecessary controversy to an already private matter.
