EXO’s Sehun has found himself facing the internet’s ire over his recent social media activity. As K-pop idols usually do, he shared a picture of his current read. If hawk-eyed netizens had not found out which book it was, he probably would not have received criticism. However, fans can be very determined, and even though the book was in Korean, they soon discovered its title. It was the Korean translation of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Chaos, written by controversial Canadian personality Jordon Peterson. Read more about it below.
EXO’s Sehun Faces Backlash After Posting A Picture Reading Jordon Peterson’s Book, Fans Are Shocked!
Known to be against the tenets of feminism and holding several other problematic opinions to boot, Jordon Peterson is infamous for intellectualising his racism and anti-feminist viewpoints. As a result, seeing Oh Sehun not just reading but also showing off his book was surprising to many fans, especially women.
While it is often said that reading any kind of book is enriching, a K-pop idol actively promoting anti-feminist literature is all kinds of messed up. This is especially true considering EXO’s fanbase is largely female. Fans did not take too kindly to his post, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice their disappointment and anger. Check out some of them below.

While most fans were surprised, some pointed out that this isn’t the first time an EXO member has associated themselves with Peterson. Suho was spotted watching his videos in 2023 to learn English. This is jarring, since K-pop idols reading feminist literature, both fictional and non-fiction, get blasted by Korean netizens. One hopes that this is an oversight by the idols and not a regular occurrence.
