Exclusive: Tina Ahuja: “My Father Govinda Used To Say That A Girl Should Be Good Looking With Weight In Check”
Tina Ahuja recalls gaining weight last year till the extent she couldn't even walk!

Growing up, body image issues have affected almost every girl and are hard to navigate. Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja also went through something similar. During an exclusive chat with Hauterrfly’s show The Male Feminist, hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, Tina Ahuja opened up about going through health problems due to weight gain and how her father often commented on the issue.
Govinda Used To Comment On Tina Ahuja’s Weight Gain
During the interview, Tina Ahuja was asked about facing body image issues. To which she replied saying that only last year she had gained a lot of weight. “In my teens, my father used to be very particular about my figure and my weight. He often asked me to lose weight when he saw my weight gain,” she said.
Recalling an incident she revealed, “I remember I had gone to Switzerland for a shoot for him and I love the milk there. So while he was shooting, I remember drinking lots of milk and hot chocolate and when we reached from there to London, my pants were not fitting me. So, he’s like, ‘A girl should be good-looking with proper weight.'”

She continued, “I used to discuss this with him saying, Papa, I don’t know what has happened with me, I have put on so much weight, I can’t even walk. It was he who asked me to start with baby steps. So, I am slowly getting there and it’s not like I’ve stopped eating. I eat everything I feel very good when I fit into good clothes because I love dressing up.”
During the chat, Tina Ahuja was asked how she felt about Govinda often being a missing father. To this, she replied, “Of course, growing up, half of the time my dad was only shooting. He hardly used to come to my school also, mom used to be a regular.” She revealed how she rarely saw her dad.
