Exclusive: Jawan Actress Ridhi Dogra Recalls An Audition For A Famous Serial, Says “I Refused The Role Because…”

An actor is defined by the characters they play, and choosing the easiest option is always the safest right? But there are a few actors who choose to do unconventional roles and actress Ridhi Dogra has always proved that with her characters. She was recently seen in Atlee Kumar’s Jawan in which she played the character of Shah Rukh Khan’s mother. In the recent episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Ridhi Dogra spoke about her career choices in serial and what kind of roles she refused to do from an early stage.

Ridhi Dogra was recently featured in Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist where she opened up about the auditions she gave and the kind of roles she rejected. The actress also shed light on her character in Atlee Kumar’s Jawan and revealed how SRK also comforted her into playing the role. Ridhi Dogra revealed she never wanted to do stereotypical roles in a saas-bahu serial. Elaborating on the same, the Jawan actress recalled an audition during which she refused to audition for a role in a serial but that turned out to be a hit daily soap. “It was either Sasural Simar Ka or Saath Nibhana Saathiya,” added Ridhi. The Jawan actress also talked about how she made sure to say yes to roles in serials that had an impact because many young girls in tier-2 and tier-3 cities are active audiences of such shows.
