Sagarika Ghatge On Becoming Dark Skinned For Lallaat
During the exclusive conversation, Sagarika Ghatge was asked about the debate around hiring a fair skinned actor for a role that requires a darker person. To this, she said, “At the end of the day, you have to judge one based on their acting. Why are you discriminating someone based on their skin colour? You see whether they’ve done their job well as an actor. I think the character matters for me, and I was waiting to do something like that. It wasn’t the character’s skin colour that made me do it, but rather the characteristics.”
