Actor Reem Shaikh has been known for working in famous television shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Tujhse Hai Raabta. The actor has had so many achievements as a child actor and is still making a name for herself on social media. But it’s never easy being a girl in a man’s world. During an exclusive chat with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist hosted by Siddharth Aalambayan, she recalled being pushed by a male co-actor on set.

Reem Shaikh Recalls Being Pushed By A Male Co-Actor

During the conversation, Reem Shaikh was asked about her abrupt experiences with male co-actors. Unfortunately, the actor seemed to have many. Reciting one of the horrific incidents, Shaikh revealed that she was once physically pushed by a co-actor. She stated, “One of my co-actors pushed me. He was so smart because he did it during a scene.”

Continuing her story she said, “He did it during a scene and I was hurt. Even after that happened, I did not say cut. But just after the scene ended, my director came running to me because he thought I had broken my neck. I fell on my back. The editor also messaged me asking if I was okay because he saw it on the video.”

Reem Shaikh revealed that this incident happened just 2 years back. This is so unbelievable. An actor physically hurting another co-actor on set should not be normal. How many more years would it take for people to understand physical harm is not normal? Reem Shaikh has been working in the industry for 15 years and if this was a man, we all would be treating him like a king. Talking about such things makes us realise that we are still a few steps back and should be respectful.
