Rasika Dugal has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade and has made an impact with her roles in projects such as Lootcase and Mirzapur. The actor is known for ditching traditional roles and go for more challenging ones. Recently in an interview with Siddhaarth Alambayan on Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Rasika spoke about her experience living in Delhi as a college student and shared shocking experiences of being eve-teased. Oh, the story of all of us women!
Rasika Dugal On Her Experience Living In Delhi
The Mirzapur actor revealed that shifting to Delhi was a big change for her. “Shifting to Delhi was a vichitra experience for me. College is a place where you feel very safe about exploring and learning new things. And then there is this city where conversations around it induce fear in you.” Rasika’s experience is relatable to a lot of us because we have all heard surprising things about women’s safety in Delhi and how it is often taken for granted.
She further adds, “If an auto driver is taking you somewhere other than the usual root, then that is something you would not ignore as a girl in Delhi. You have to be very careful about such things.” Rasika’s experiences feel very relatable to women NGL. “I used to feel scared even seeing a car parked on the side while walking on an empty road.”
She felt that this fear wasn’t fair because as college students we all want to enjoy our lives carefree.”We should have had the opportunity to go out on the road and enjoy,” said the actor.

Rasika Dugal On Eve Teasing In Delhi
“It was very common around the city. But I always felt angry when such things happened. All our friends, we used to exchange notes and talked about how today somebody brushed against you, or rubbed against you, or touched you. Girls used to take the men who eve teased them in the bus, but yet no fear was there in the minds of such people,” said Rasika Dugal. All these things are NOT OK because there is also so much mental trauma that comes with such incidents.
It’s sad how we still live in a society where college-going girls have to worry about their safety more than their education. Roaming around freely in broad daylight or even at night should never be an issue. Most of the girls might resonate with this regardless of the city. Our minds should never be about comparing the safety in certain cities but always on how we can make things better for the people living there.
