1. The entertainment industry can be unforgiving for women trying to restart their careers after having children, and many struggle to find their place again. Did you ever worry the door had closed for you while watching your peers perform during your break?
A: I still worry about that even now. As an actor, you’re always in a position of being chosen, so even when I’m working on a project, I always have this fear that there may not be another one after it. Whenever those worries and fears come up, I try to read the script at least one more time. Because I feel that doing so might lead to another opportunity in the future.
2. With projects like Squid Game Season 2, Genie, Make a Wish, and The Art of Sarah, your reach has gone global. Has that international scale changed how you approach your work?
A. A: Of course. Even though I’ve never met them in person, whenever I come across their comments, I’m reminded of just how much love our K-dramas receive. It makes me feel an even greater sense of responsibility, and their words truly give me strength as well.
