Pallavi Joshi On Unsafe Days Of Shooting In UP

During the interview, Pallavi Joshi recalled shooting in Lucknow. She said, “It used to happen a lot in UP. When we used to go for shooting in Lucknow. Even if there was intense security around you, somebody would have touched you.” Further, the host stated how women downplay it. Pallavi Joshi agreed but talked about moving on fast.

She said, “But what to do? It has happened to you. You can’t sit with the trauma. You have to react at that moment. I have always reacted. Many times girls feel. If someone touched me. How do I react? If they ask me where I touched. I have to tell them. Before these questions. You raise your voice. Or you do something. He touched me. Where he touched me doesn’t matter. He touched me. Did I allow it? Why should he touch me? To even see if I am real. Even if he is a fan. There is no such thing. I am your fan. I want to touch you. To see if you are real. What is this? I will show you how real I am.”

The actress shared more experiences. Pallavi Joshi said, “Groped. That happens with every woman. Because we used to travel in local trains. So it used to happen. We used to hit with our elbows. It also used to happen in theatres. When we used to watch a film in the theatres, one hand used to come and touch us. It’s very intense. We used to shout. And many a time, that guy would just get up and leave. We used to embarrass him.”

When asked for advice, she said, “I think she should pull him up and slap him. Because only a pervert can do such things. No normal person can do such things. And perverts should be shown their place.” But we are all scared, right? That if we raise our voice and issue a case, then there will be a ruckus. And because of that, we’ll have to keep coming back to the police station, or file a case, or do things,” added the host.

In response she said, ” Yes, our systems are a little problematic. And maybe that’s why people hesitate a little. But it’s so sad. We used to do it completely. It’s happened to my friend too. There was a conductor. She was sitting and he came, and he touched her. She actually got up and she gave him a tight slap. And we all stood up with her. Yeah. So you have to be together.”
