Famous Indian television actor Madalsa Sharma has been a household name ever since her character in Anupamaa went viral. The actor has been known to speak her mind always and believes in equality for both genders. And during an exclusive chat with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, she has opened up about whether her father-in-law, Mithun Chakraborty, is the same.

Madalsa Sharma About Mithun Chakraborty

When asked if her father-in-law is a feminist, Madalsa Sharma said, “1000 per cent. He has never believed in things like women should dress a certain way, walk a certain way, or by this age a woman should get married, you know. Or things like a woman should change her dressing sense after getting married, and should just make food for her family, he’s nothing like that. In fact, he’s the opposite of all such mindsets. He’s fun, and you get to eat a lot of good food all the time around him. He only talks to his friends and his entourage in Bengali, but at home, we all speak Hindi only.

I’ve never faced any criticism about what I wear after my marriage because they’ve all been so supportive, which has given me a lot of freedom. All because my father-in-law, my mother-in-law and my husband Mimoh, they all understand me.” Madalsa was further asked if she had ever been pressurised to have kids after marriage during this chat. To which she stated, “Never, because I think this is a choice for the couple, and also, such pressure is very difficult to handle. My experience has always been with others telling me things whenever I am comfortable with them.
