Kritka Kamra: “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge Got Me Credibility As An Actor”
In an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly, Gyaarah Gyaarah star Kritika Kamra spoke about doing a show like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and how it became a life-changing experience for her as an actor. Kritika said, “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge got me so much love. I am still recognised by Dr Nidhi and it has a very different audience. That particular show also got a significant male audience which doesn’t happen with television. It had a very urban audience, and it was not that we were titillating it or something, it happened because the concept and story appealed to a different demographic. Since the beginning of my career, I have been trying to do shows or pick characters that are against the convention, and that are alternate in their approach. This was an attempt in that direction. The supernatural, saas-bahu content worked more back then. But kudos to some makers who took the risk and tried to attempt something new. I was always on the lookout, and somehow they would also approach me. So work attracts work and that’s why I am so conscious of building my filmography in a certain way. Kuch Toh Log Kahenge was only a step in trying to do something unconventional and that risk paid off. I am proud of that show, it got me so much love and credibility as an actor.”
Kuch Toh Log Kahenge had Kritika Kamra and Monish Bahl but later that latter was replaced with Sharad Kelkar.
Kritika Kamra’s latest show is Gyaarah Gyaarah Raghav Juyal and Dhairya Karwa.
