Konkona stressed that with each wave, feminism has evolved, seamlessly incorporating new aspects and expanding its definition. Konkona Sharma On Feminism
When asked about her perspective on feminism, Konkona Sen Sharma said, “Feminism is such a discipline, and there have been multiple waves of feminism—the first wave and the second wave; every time we’ve added and evolved the definition.” Emphasising the very essence of feminism, Konkona added, “Feminism is something that believes in equal rights for women and everyone. It’s not more rights for women and less rights for men. Feminism is also a movement that is inclusive of all minorities.” Furthermore, Konkona highlighted that feminism extends beyond being merely a movement; rather, it represents a continuously expanding and evolving force.
Konkona Sen Sharma is known for challenging norms in roles like Page 3 and Lipstick Under My Burkha. The much-loved actress is also a director and is known for painting nuanced portraits of women with strength and depth in her films like A Death in the Gunj and Lust Stories 2.
