In the latest episode of Yeh Ladki Pagal Hai, host Pooja Nawathe asked Kartik Aaryan if he opts for such serious films just to break the image of him doing only cult favourite films for the audience. The star gave a very simple and mature response to this.
Kartik Aaryan On Breaking From Doing Cult Favourite Films Only
Kartik Aaryan’s recent release in Chandu Champion by Kabir Khan and it’s inspired by the life of the first Paralympic gold winner Murlikant Pedkar. After a long time, the actor is seen in such a character-driven role. In the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s Yeh Ladki Pagal Hai, Kartik Aaryan spoke about doing cult favourite film and his process of selecting films. He said, “When I do any film, I don’t realise the level of attachment it will get from the audience. When we shot Pyaar Ka Punchnama, many people could not understand the title till it was released in the theatres. Many people would question the title and we were also newcomers. But now it has become such a big name. But back then we had not thought that it would become so popular. The same happened with Sonu Ki Titu and Bhool Bhulaiya. Many problems happened before their release dates and people assumed they won’t work. However, they worked well at the box office and even the kids like. So, when we make a film, we only hope that people like it and find it relatable, and we are clueless about how it will work. But when it connects so much with the audience it becomes a cult film. Now other genres that I play, that only the audience will decide if it become a cult or not.”
