Chintragada Singh On Her Role In Khakee: The Bengal Chapter!
We asked Chitrangada Singh if she had any references for her character as a politician in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. The actress said, “The most important thing was the discussion that we had. We sat with the showrunner Neeraj Panday and discussed what he wanted with the character, what is her body language, she is not over the top, and she is not dramatic. Politics has not happened to Nibedita just now, it’s not a product of her being ambitious, it’s come from her college days. The makers were clear on how she is, what’s her demeanour, and what kind of a person she is. So once all that was clear, that itself was the reference for me. However, as for my homework, there was Mahua Moitra, she was the most recent, most talked about woman of that age bracket. I did have a look at her, but the character is still very different from that.”
She further added, “My director Debatma did not want me to have a reference. I had asked him if I should look up something, but they did not want me to have such reference points.”
The actor also spoke about her experience of working the top-notch Bengali actors and how much she learned from them!
