Bigg Boss OTT 3 ex-contestant Poulomi Das in an exclusive conversation with Hauterrfly shared her experience of being a dusky model and revealed that the model industry is way more flexible in the area than we expect it to be.
Poulomi Das On Biases Against Dusky Models
Poulomi Das was evicted from Bigg Boss OTT 3 at the beginning of June. She has been a significant part of the modelling industry. In an exclusive conversation with Hauterrfly, Poulomi broke some misconceptions about the biases against dusky women in the modelling industry. She said, “I don’t think there is any kind of bias because I started as a dusky model, and I started the career because of my colour. I have worked with one of the most prestigious brands in India and all over the world. I think the modelling world for dusky women is much more flexible than the movie business. However, I think it’s also changing a lot and people are accepting this colour. I mean it’s just a colour, accept it.”
Poulomi Das also spoke about being a dusky girl amid toxic beauty standards in Indian society and how her strong upbringing led her to feel proud of her skin colour. Poulomi further added that she has her ways of dealing with any kind of bias in this case.
