Periods are just one of the many things related to women that are considered a taboo topic in India. Indian families never discuss these taboo topics in the open especially if there is a male involved. Almost all the girls are advised to discuss periods behind closed doors and often times they are expected to just not talk about it even. In an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist Bigg Boss 17 fame Mannara Chopra opened up about how she learnt about periods.

Mannara Chopra On Period Education

Mannara Chopra is known for her extrovert nature, so when we asked her the question about who was educating her when it came to periods? Was it her elder sister, mother or friends, Mannara responded saying,  “I think meri mom ne toh mere sath share hi nhi kiya, I really regret the fact that my mother never really shared about what periods are all about.”

She further elaborated on the subject and revealed how her mother used to think that such topics should not be discussed at home, in fact, her mother believes they should not be discussed at all. Mannara also discussed that this is not the way she would like her children to grow up, “Tomorrow I will have kids and I will definitely make my boy and girl sit and tell them about what periods are all about when you grow up what adulthood is all about” she said.
