It is easy to say “Not all men” but it is harder to accept all women have been harassed or eve-teased at some point in their lives. Bhumi Pednekar is no different. In the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Bhumi Pednekar shared a shocking incident of eve-teasing and harassment that she experienced. And surprise surprise! She was a mere teenager visiting a fair in Bandra with her family and friends when this incident took place.
Bhumi Pednekar On Being Harassed As A Teenager
Bhumi Pednekar revealed that she was at the fair when someone pinched her ass and she kept moving forward but this person did not stop pinching her ass. “I knew what was happening, it’s not like I was unaware, and I continued moving forward while someone kept pinching my ass again and again,” Bhumi said while recalling her experience. Elaborating further, the Bhakshak actress explained that even though she may not have been able to identify the culprit back then, but she still remembers what happened quite clearly.
“I remember how the poking how the pinching felt, it’s like your body remembers that trauma and these are traumas that you can’t get over,” added Bhumi.

Bhumi Pednekar Shares Multiple Episodes Of Eve-Teasing
As we all know, incidents of sexual harassment and eve-teasing are not limited to one time, place or person. Sadly, it’s a reality that all women suffer, mostly multiple times in their lives! Speaking about the same, Bhumi Pednekar revealed that she experienced similar behaviour outside her school as well. She shared that as students walked back home, there was an auto-rickshaw driver who would continuously flash himself to them (obviously, unbothered by the outcome) leaving a distressing and traumatic memory in the minds of the students. Showcasing her dismay at the overall attitude of society Bhumi Pednekar said, “This is a sickness. I mean how do you reach that stage of such heightened emotion that you think this is normal?”

Following her own experience, she also described her friend’s experience where a man hit her on the chest and ran away leaving the victim in a state of shock. “You know at that moment you’re so paralyzed and traumatized and she just didn’t know what to do. You just feel so violated,” said the Bhakshak actress.
Bhumi Pednekar laments for the women especially teenage girls who had to go through such horrifying experiences. While hoping to meet a woman who has never been harassed, Bhumi blames the lack of education for the increasing incidences of eve-teasing, something we couldn’t agree more with. In this episode of The Male Feminist, Bhumi Pednekar opened up about her upbringing, period stories and much more. Watch the episode here.
