A woman’s body goes through tremendous changes throughout their life. From starting our periods at an early age to giving birth to experiencing the most stressful menopause, we all go through a lot. And while people have started talking about their period experiences, menopause is something whose effect still is very less talked about. In a recent interview with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist with host Siddhaarth Aalambayan, the Bollywood wive, AKA Bhavana Pandey, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, and Neelam Kothari Soni, talked about their experience dealing with menopause.
Bollywood Wives On Going Through Menopause
During a recent interview, the Bollywood wives were asked to share their views on dealing with menopause as they have talked about on the show Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives actively. To this, Bhavana Pandey said, “I think menopause is something which most of us are going through right now.” To which, Maheep Kapoor added, “And Perimenopause starts at an early age as well. It’s a misconception that it’s an age thing. Sometimes a person can experience this in their 40s or 50s.”
Bhavana Pandey added, “And sometimes a woman can go through this process for years as well.” Another member of the tribe, Seema Sajdeh added, “These days women are even hitting perimenopause in their 30s.” Explaining the situation she is in right now, Pandey said, “They say you go through certain hormones during your pregnancy, or your puberty, or now menopause, and even though I’ve had all the green flags in my life, that is something which they never understand. I’ll give you an example, with my husband, Chunky Pandey, sometimes he doesn’t understand when I don’t feel like doing anything and it’s just a mood swing which I am going through.”

She further added, “It’s not like they’re not trying to understand, they try to understand but it’s such a mind and a body thing that a woman goes through that it is too difficult for them to understand. Like sometimes I’m so rude and I don’t even realise I am rude. And a second later I wondered why I reacted like that and genuinely it wasn’t in my control and there was nothing I could do.”
It’s so good when people in mainstream media come and talk about such experiences making many women feel heard.
