Barkha Singh opened up about navigating the way between a content creator and an actor.

Staying relevant on social media has become a crucial part for even actors nowadays. Which is why, sometimes, the line between a professional and a content creator might get blurry for some. In a recent conversation with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, Barkha Singh opened up about navigating the way between the two industries. Check out the episode here!
What Barkha Singh Said
When asked how she balances being a content creator and an actor, Barkha Singh had a strong reply. She said, “So first I have always been an actor because that MTV girls on top became famous, that’s when I made an Instagram account, and then brands and all started happening. There’s a wrong perception in people’s minds that maybe I got the role because of my followers. I auditioned with the director. I tested with four other boys you had shortlisted. Then I got that role.”

She continued, “Another perception is that she might not know how to act because she’s an influencer. But let the person prove a point, it’s not necessary that it might happen as you think. A lot of people think that I became an actor because I was a content creator first. Also, there’s a very stark opinion that a lot of decision makers have in the industry against influencers.”
