Eve-teasing incidents are something most women around us have experienced at least once in their lives. As women, we have always been told to dress up a certain way or do things differently to “not” get eve-teased, making it a shame for the women rather than the men who do that to them In the recent episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, actor Ayesha Khan opened up about her experiences of eve-teasing and how it has been normalized in the society that we live in.

In the 70th episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, actor Ayesha Khan opened up about her experience of eve-teasing. Ayesha talked about being followed and experiencing people passing comments on her body. When asked about her experience, Ayesha told multiple incidents where she felt unsafe being alone.

One such incident took place when Ayesha was on the beach alone and there were men who started swirling around her. Further, she said “The best part was that there was a police officer standing there. And I told him, ‘Sir, I was standing right here.’ And I told him about the incident and he asked me what I was doing at the beach at that hour of the day.”

Deeper into the conversation, Ayesha talked about many such instances stating, “Women have to think about each decision twice because there is a constant fear that you are unsafe. People don’t realize the impact of (these) real-life things because they stay in your mind.”

Ayesha also talked about eve-teasing being normalized in society. Talking about the same Ayesha Khan said, “Eve-teasing has been so normalized in our brains that (as women) you know that if you wear short clothes, people will look at you.” Ayesha also talked about her experiences with casting calls and the industry, further into the conversation.
