Q. India has a massive K-pop fanbase, and Indian cinema is known for its incredible music. Have you watched any Indian movies or heard Indian music, and would you ever be up for a collaboration with Indian artists?
A. “India is actually one of the major countries I still have not had the opportunity to visit, so I would really love to experience it properly one day. Growing up in the US, I had a lot of Indian-American friends; I have always loved Indian food, and even through dance, I had some exposure to the culture. When I was younger and going to dance events, I would sometimes be around South Asian teams performing Bollywood-style and fusion routines, so I remember seeing how much energy, storytelling, music, and movement were combined in those performances.
I have seen films connected to India such as Life of Pi, although I know that is not the same as saying I am deeply familiar with Indian cinema. I have also had the chance to meet Salman Khan in person, which was a very memorable experience for me.
One thing I find interesting about Indian cinema, from what I have experienced, is that there is something similar to K-pop in the way different art forms can come together. Music, dance, acting, visuals, fashion, and storytelling can all become part of one complete experience. That kind of creative world is naturally very interesting to me.
And absolutely, I would be open to collaborating with an Indian artist. I do not really choose collaborations based on nationality. I would want the artist, the song, and our creative identities to genuinely fit together.

If there were a way to combine violin-driven K-pop with elements of Indian music in a way that felt authentic rather than forced, I think that could be really exciting. Hopefully I can visit India first, experience more of the culture for myself, and understand it beyond what I have seen from the outside.”
