The film is based on one of the most famous Greek literary works, Homer’s The Odyssey, which follows the 10-year precarious journey of King Odysseus back to Ithaca after the Trojan War. During his journey, the King faces terrifying monsters like the Cyclops and the Sirens, powerful gods and enchantresses such as Circe and Calypso.
This timeless epic, reimagined by Christopher Nolan, has been filmed in IMAX, and Matt Damon takes on the role of Odysseus in the adaptation.
Cast
The Odyssey feature a star-studded cast. Tom Holland plays Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, while Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, Zendaya will take on the role of the goddess Athena, and Charlize Theron will star as Circe. Other A-list actors, including Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page and John Leguizamo, will also feature in the upcoming epic film.

Release Date
The epic mythology film will be released using the new IMAX film technology. The Odyssey brings Homer’s works to the IMAX film screens for the first time. It will be released on 17th July, 2026.
