There have been many instances where Sasaeng fans have interrupted K-pop idols’ lives in shocking ways. They might sneak into homes or bombard phones with calls right in the middle of a live session and cause distress. Just recently, ENHYPEN member Jay faced this head-on during a Weverse live. And, instead of staying quiet, he spoke up strongly against it. Read on to know more about what he said and how fans have reacted to it.
Jay Claps Back At Sasaeng Fan Calling Him During Weverse Live
The K-pop idol came live on October 10 where he faced constant calls from an alleged Sasaeng fan. Then, he paused to address the issue directly and stated that he did not know the person and felt no interest in them. The K-pop idol added that the repeated calls disturbed his chat with Engenes and wasted valuable time. ENHYPEN’s Jay warned that the continued behaviour would lead him to answer publicly on the stream, exposing the calls for all to hear.
Well, his response was highly praised online by Engenes and netizens. Many called it a bold move that others in the industry needed to take. Netizens shared hopes that more artists would speak up against such invasion. One user wrote, “Jay said what needed to be said idols aren’t your personal hotline.” Another user wrote, “Let’s normalise idol hating on their ssaengsss. What did that ssaengss expect from calling on idol like that?”
For the unversed, in July, their agency, BELIFT LAB under HYBE Labels, released a strong warning after Sasaeng fans broke into the group’s dormitory. The intruders had entered without permission and filmed the members secretly.
Police arrested the suspects right away for crimes like trespassing and stalking. The agency worked closely with authorities to push for full legal penalties. After this event, many fans called for better security. But it seems like the situation is still the same.
