On the heels of BELIFT’s shocking announcement that ENHYPEN would continue as a six-member group, Heeseung addressed fans on Weverse. Here, he elaborated, saying that he wished to go on a different creative path, and the label suggested he showcase his work separately from the group. He had been working on music, he said, and wanted to share it with the world.
Fans were livid at the insinuation that the company pushed the K-pop idol to leave the group he had been part of for six years. Although he does not focus on this, it seems like the company’s idea.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), ENGENEs and other K-pop fans detailed their reactions. Some wondered why he couldn’t release solo music while in ENHYPEN. Heeseung has revealed that he wanted to release solo music. However, it is unclear whether he had to depart from ENHYPEN to do so.
