Overseas ENHYPEN Fans Flood National Pension Service Communications Over Heeseung’s Departure
According to Naver, on March 18, 2026, the National Pension Service (NPS) chairman spoke of a surge in international calls and emails. In fact, due to a sudden increase in phone calls, their regular activities had to be halted. Additionally, they received almost 1500 emails in less than two hours.
While it seemed strange at first, it soon became clear that ENGENEs from abroad were behind this. Officials from the Pension Service claimed this happened as it was a “major shareholder” of HYBE. Social media called for protests, and overseas supporters acquiesced to the request.
Soon, some posts shared the NPS’ contact information online. While several netizens sought to enquire if the service was involved in HYBE’s decision-making as a shareholder, they were largely drowned out by the fans. In fact, the Chairman revealed that it was a “long-term investor” that divided public retirement funds without interference in “individual companies.” He added that “composition of K-pop group members” is not something they reckon with.
Providing counselling services to foreign workers in Korea and Koreans abroad, this unprecedented response disadvantaged those who were in need of assistance.

After this incident came to light, netizens, both Korean and international, took to social media to express their disapproval at these actions. Calling the fans who inconvenienced the National Pension Service “embarrassing,” they added that those who called for spam calls and emails must be “held accountable.” They also reminded fans to address their concerns to BELIFT Lab and HYBE, both of whom share accountability.
