Emraan Hashmi Slams People In Film Industry Calling Them ‘Insecure.’ Know Why

Emraan Hashmi is one of the most outspoken people in the Hindi film industry. The actor received a lot of praise for his performance in Haq a woman-centric film which also starred Yami Gautam. Talking about the same, the actor expressed his wish about wanting to see more such films while bluntly calling men in the film industry ‘insecure.’ Read on to know what else Emraan Hashmi stated.
Emraan Hashmi On Insecure Men In The Film Industry
During his conversation with News18, Emraan Hashmi stated that the hyper-masculine man who is seen as toxic in what’s working in theatres, adding that there is an uproar surrounding the same but that’s what people are buying tickets for. He stated that that is how predominantly our country is. Emraan reportedly revealed understanding why films portraying hyper-masculinity worked; its because many men identified themselves with it. He added that such movies will not go away anytime soon, but having said that, Emraan also mentioned that a section of the audience wants to see women-led movies.
Emraan expressed wanting to see more women-centric films being made but according to him its easier said than done. He called men in his industry “insecure” and questioned how many people would have done a film like Haq. He added that he was not trying to blow his own trumpet but back then, he had done a film like The Dirty Picture, adding that he liked the subject. Emraan expressed that people in his industry need to get over their insecurities and create more films like that.
