Emma Watson Opens Up About Taking Break From Hollywood, Says Making Friends Was A ‘Painful Experience’

It’s been a long time since we have seen the talented Hollywood star Emma Watson on the screen. The actor took a break after filming Little Women and has since been mostly seen at film events. Recently, the actor spoke about many aspects of her Hollywood life and how it turned out to be a disappointment for her in many ways. Read on to know more about it.

What Did Emma Watson Say?

The actor who gained fame with the very popular series Harry Potter recently spoke about her Hollywood journey, her expectations, and the surprises she experienced during this period, all on the podcast with Jay Shetty. Talking about her expectations, Emma Watson said that she wanted to make friends in Hollywood but she defined this as a very “painful experience” outside Harry Potter. The actor further elaborated, saying that most people in Hollywood don’t come to make friends, but they only see it as an opportunity to make a career. After doing a 12-series franchise like Harry Potter, Emma Watson had expectations about every film set having the same kind of environment, but she was disappointed big time, as per the interview.

During the interview, Emma Watson also opened up about the jealousy, competition and hierarchy factors affecting her in the Hollywood space, and that was not strong enough to get through it.

For the unversed, Emma Watson made her on-screen debut in 2001, with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and since then has featured in various films like- Ballet Shoes, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, and Beauty And The Beast among others.
