We South Asians are everywhere because there are no limitations to the kinds of talents we have. Whenever we see a South Asians’ name roll in the credits of huge Hollywood projects, we can’t help but feel proud. The pride once again sparked through when we noticed Prathi aka Prathiksha Srinivasan’s name under the writers’ credits of Emily In Paris seasons 4 & 5. After looking up her name, we thought why isn’t her name as mainstream as other South Asian immigrants in Hollywood? She truly deserves everyone’s attention. Let’s know more about her!
Who Is Prathi Srinivasan?
We already mentioned that she is one of the writers of Emily In Paris S4 and 5 but wait because there’s a lot more to her professional front than just that. According to her IMDb page, she has also contributed her work as a writer to multiple shows including Titans, iZombie, and Bollyweird. Additionally, she has also written the feature film titled Plan B with writing partner Joshua Levy, who also serves as a writer on the Lily Collins-starrer show.
Back in 2024, Prathi joined Anime Expo as a guest for AAPI’s Impact in Entertainment. The Instagram post on the same revealed that she grew up between Chennai and West Des Moines, Iowa. She not only wrote but also produced Emily In Paris S5. Additionally, it was also revealed that Prathi had a passion to write about intersectional characters who are stuck between where they are coming from and where they are headed.
While talking about how she broke into Hollywood, Prathi revealed on Jesse’s Teahouse show that she had applied to HBO’s writers fellowship programme after graduating from college. She got in and during this process she broke into the industry. Prathi revealed that getting an agent early in her career made things easier for her.

As a South Asian immigrant woman, breaking into Hollywood isn’t an easy task. Prathi Srinivasan not only made it despite these obstacles but also gave hope to other aspiring South Asians who want to make their name in the entertainment industry. Watching her work closely can help a person learn so many things about writing a project. We are proud of women of colour breaking barriers and proving that they are capable of doing so much more.
