Actress Elli AvRam made headlines this year when YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani posted a picture with her. The two posted some romantic pictures on Instagram where Ashish held the actress in his arms. Dating rumours started spreading about the two as soon as the pictures were posted; however, it was later revealed that the two were starring together in a music video. The entire incident attracted a lot of hate and misogynistic remarks towards Elli, who has finally broken her silence about it in a conversation with Zoom.
Elli AvRam Opens Up About Trolls And Misogynistic Comments She Received Over Picture With Ashish Chanchlani
After Ashish Chanchlani and Elli AvRam’s picture went viral few people started bringing up Elli’s previous relationship and even made hurtful remarks about her ‘body count’. Not only were these comments incredibly invasive, but also misogynistic. The actress opened up by saying that at first she didn’t know the exact definition of the phrase, but after knowing the real meaning, she found it to be nasty.
Elli AvRam also mentioned influencer Uorfi Javed, who had previously defended her.”Body count stands for something else, which, honestly, even I didn’t know what it meant until my Gen-Z people explained to me what body count means. The number of people that you have been physically with, that’s what it means. That’s why it was very nasty. Of course, Uorfi gave that statement, and it was really sweet of her. She’s that one person who really speaks up.” said Elli.
The actress went on to slam trolls who target women no matter what they do. “I feel it always happens with women. It never happens with men. It’s always us; we are the demons. And it’s just society, life and frustrated men, probably very hurt also — we can just pray for them and bless them with more light and that they become more mature, heal and understand how to respect women and human beings,” said Elli while voicing her frustration towards the double standards.
