Many reports surfaced on February 16 about a police investigation initiated against producer Ekta Kapoor in a criminal case. However, Ekta Kapoor’s lawyer has issued an official statement on the matter and dismissed it as false information. In the statement, it has been mentioned that the misinformation was made to ruin the producer’s name and her OTT platform. They are also planning to go ahead with a defamation case against this misinformation.
Ekta Kapoor’s Advocate Issues Legal Statement
An official statement on the matter was put out by Ekta Kapoor’s advocate Rizwan Siddiquee on the false information about the producer and her OTT platform ALT Balaji. Clarifying the details of the case, the legal notice mentioned that the police department had already closed the case in 2020 and that there is misinformation being spread about the same. The official statement also stated that there are “personal agendas and criminal motives involved” in this and the notice further hinted at certain individuals trying to malign Ekta Kapoor and her media platform’s name.
The notice also stated that Ekta Kapoor is planning to put a defamation suit against anyone trying to ruin her name and spread misinformation.

It was earlier reported that a Mumbai court had ordered a probe into a complaint against Ekta Kapoor and ALT Balaji that was registered by the social media personality Vikas Pathak aka Hindustan Bhau. This complaint was made in 2020 against a scene in one of the Ekta Kapoor web shows that allegedly disrespected Indian soldiers.
However, as per the latest update on this, Ekta Kapoor’s advocate has dismissed it as misinformation and baseless rumour.
