The unfortunate news of Doraemon series director Tsutomu Shibayama made headlines following an official announcement. The director died at the age of 84 and as per the reports, he was suffering with cancer that became the cause of his demise. Doreamon Series Director Passes Away
A kid’s and even an adult’s favourite TV show Doraemon never has a dull moment. All thanks to Tsutomu Shibayama, the director of the show that ran for over 20 years. However, his unfortunate demise has left the fans and well-wishers heartbroken. As per an official statement from his studio, it was informed that Shibayama breathed his last on March 6, and the time, he was 84 years old. The reason behind his death is said to be lung cancer and an intimate funeral was held in the presence of his family. As per the statement, Tsutomu Shibayama was the chief director for the TV series Doraemon. However, he served as director and general director on many other films and shows like Chibi Maruko-chan and Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori.
In the statement released by the studio, they also humbly declined to accept any form of gifts, tributes or visit for condolences. They however, thanked the fans and well-wishers for the love and support that have given to the director over the years. And they also assured them of a memorial service, but a date has not been announced.

Born in Tokyo, Tsutomu Shibayama started his journey as a manga artist and then went on to become one of the popular Japanese anime director the world has seen!
