The third instalment of the famous Don franchise has been making headlines due to the selection of its main lead. Hrithik Roshan To Star In Don 3?
The idea of Hrithik Roshan donning the sleek suits of the underworld boss isn’t completely out of left field. Fans will recall his suave appearance in Don 2, when Shah Rukh Khan’s character wore a high-tech mask to impersonate Hrithik during a high-stakes heist. While it is unclear whether Farhan Akhtar and his crew intend to incorporate that exact background into the new plot, excitement is growing.
A source told Filmfare that the producers are interested in investigating the possibility of the War 2 star becoming the next face of the well-established series. “After Ranveer’s departure, Hrithik has emerged as a strong contender for the role. While conversations are still in the early stages, it will be intriguing to see if Hrithik eventually joins,” the person said. The stakes in Don 3 could hardly be higher. The creators are well aware that the lead must have a strong portfolio and proven stardom. After all, whoever inherits the mantle will be filling the big shoes of Amitabh Bachchan, who played the role in the 1978 classic, and Shah Rukh Khan, who reinvented the character for a new generation in 2006 and 2011.

The search for a replacement lead apparently began when Ranveer Singh left the film following the enormous success of Dhurandhar. While neither the producers nor the actor has officially announced the breakup, sources suggest that Ranveer is transferring his emphasis to Jai Mehta’s upcoming film, Pralay.
