On Friday morning, actress Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram story to express her frustration over a video circulating online that falsely claimed she had undergone botched Botox treatment. Alia Bhatt vehemently dismissed the allegations as garbage, labeling them as harmful and exhausting. The video in question, created by Dr. Sai Ganapathy, a specialist in facial aesthetics, included commentary on Bhatt’s appearance, particularly highlighting a perceived crooked smile attributed to what he described as Botox migration leading to facial paralysis on one side.

What Did The Doctor Say About Alia Bhatt’s Botox Videos?

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Dr. Ganapathy acknowledged Alia Bhatt’s reaction but maintained that he preferred to focus on the medical aspects rather than engage in personal opinions. He clarified that his observations stemmed from a professional standpoint rather than a personal attack. He emphasized that complications can occur with any aesthetic procedure, noting that such instances are common and entirely reversible. He explained that when Botox is injected, it can occasionally migrate to unintended areas, resulting in a slight asymmetry, which he believed may have happened in Bhatt’s case.

Dr. Ganapathy elaborated that this is a minor complication and can happen to anyone, including his patients. He mentioned that sometimes, when facial muscles move, the Botox can shift towards the risorius muscle, causing the lips to appear uneven when speaking. His concerns were based on observations from multiple videos of Bhatt circulating online, in which her smile appeared altered during her speech.

More Details

When asked whether public figures like Alia Bhatt should face scrutiny regarding their appearances and the potential for surgery-related complications, Dr. Ganapathy shared that while he does not condone such scrutiny, the high visibility of celebrities often leads to increased awareness about cosmetic procedures. He argued that when issues arise, it can educate the public on the reversibility of such procedures and the reality that even high-profile individuals are not immune to complications.

He acknowledged that celebrities have a significant influence on their followers, particularly younger audiences, and their openness about cosmetic enhancements can foster a better understanding of aesthetic treatments. He pointed out that discussions surrounding cosmetic procedures, including lip fillers, have gained traction in recent years, largely due to celebrities being more candid about their experiences.
