The controversy started after Diplo shared a video edit on X and Instagram featuring all seven members of BTS. In the caption, he explained that he spent months working closely with the group in the studio for their new album Arirang but didn’t take any photos during that time. He said he keeps making these edits because the album is selling out everywhere and breaking records around the world and ended the post by thanking ARMY for their love and support.

However, the video did not get the reaction he expected. Many fans quickly criticised Diplo for using artificial intelligence to create the edit just for entertainment. Some fans expressed worries that Diplo might have used AI while producing parts of the album itself.
