Famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is facing scrutiny for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. Though the film would not be releasing in India, many film bodies are urging filmmakers to drop him from their projects. According to reports, his casting in Border 2 is in question, and he might be replaced by his contemporary, Ammy Virk.
Ammy Virk To Replace Diljit Dosanjh In Border 2?
As per TOI, the makers of Border 2 are thinking of replacing Diljit Dosanjh as he has only shot 3-4 scenes in the film. They feel that they can re-shoot these scenes without any hassle. They also reported that Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk’s name has come up amid the discussions. With the tensions at the moment, he has been considered the top contender.

However, another report by Hindustan Times suggests that there are no current plans by the team to replace Dosanjh in Border 2. A source told the publication that the ‘Lover’ singer was locked in 9 months ago, and nearly half of the film has already been shot. They stated that any replacements might not be ‘logistically feasible.’
Speaking about the ongoing controversy, Diljit Dosanjh said that the casting of Hania Aamir was done way before the horrific incident of the Pahalgam attack. He told the BBC that the project was completed before the rising political tensions. He said that amid this, the producers decided not to release Sardaar Ji 3 in India but only overseas.
