Diljit Dosanjh Counters Sardaar Ji 3 Backlash With India-Pakistan Match. Says THIS

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh faced backlash for collaborating with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. He was also scrutinised for not speaking up on the unfortunate Pahalgam attack. And now, amid the latest India-Pakistan match, the singer has finally opened up about the same. He said that his film was shot before the terror attack, and the match was played after it. He also said that he has many answers to give, but has been quiet.

During his Malaysia concert, Diljit Dosanjh was seen saluting the national flag and giving it respect. He also sought permission from the audience to speak about a few misunderstandings. “When my film Sardaarji 3 was shot in February, the matches were being played,” the singer stated. He expressed his grief over the unfortunate Pahalgam terror attack that took place on April 22, taking the lives of 26 people. Diljit mentioned that he has always prayed for strict punishments for the terrorists. He said that though his film was shot before the attack, the matches were played after.

On September 14, India and Pakistan competed in the Asia Cup cricket tournament. India won the match, but declined to greet their opponents. The singer also criticised the media for portraying him as an ‘anti-nationalist’ and mentioned that the Punjabi and Sikh communities would never go against the nation. He said that though he had many answers, he preferred to stay quiet amid the chaos. Earlier this year, Diljit was lambasted for selecting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his film Sardaar Ji 3, amid the backdrop of ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
