Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour, which has been making waves across India, has now hit yet another roadblock. Following his much-anticipated concert in Chandigarh, the event organisers have found themselves under scrutiny for exceeding noise-level restrictions, potentially facing a hefty penalty of Rs 15 lakh. For the unversed, Diljit Dosanjh’s previous concert had also faces quite a few problems where the sale of alcohol and meat was banned.
Diljit Dosanjh Concert To Be Fined
Reports indicate that the noise levels during the concert surpassed the permissible 75-decibel limit mandated by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Monitoring devices recorded sound levels between 76.1 and 93.1 decibels during the event. As a result, the local administration is expected to issue a notice to the organisers and recommend the penalty for the violation. This incident is only the latest in a series of challenges Diljit has encountered during his Indian tour. Earlier, his Hyderabad concert sparked controversy when the Telangana government sent a notice prohibiting performances of songs that glorify alcohol, drugs, or violence. Additionally, his Pune concert was marked by the absence of alcohol, while his Indore show faced stricter restrictions, with neither alcohol nor meat being served due to protests by groups such as Bajrang Dal.
The situation in Chandigarh seems to have been the tipping point for the singer-actor. During the concert on December 14, Diljit expressed his frustration with India’s inadequate infrastructure for live shows, citing recurring issues as a hindrance to artists and organisers. He stressed the importance of addressing these shortcomings, highlighting the revenue potential of the live entertainment industry and its contribution to livelihoods.
While his Dil-Luminati tour has been celebrated by fans for its electrifying performances and innovative stage designs, the mounting administrative hurdles and restrictions appear to have taken a toll on the singer’s enthusiasm. Diljit even suggested that he may halt his live performances in India until significant improvements are made to concert infrastructure and regulations.
Diljit Dosanjh performed his last concert of the Dil-Luminati tour in Guwahati, marking the end of the tour.
