International Emmy Awards 2025: Amar Singh Chamkila Ft Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra Bags No Wins

It was a huge moment when Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer Amar Singh Chamkila was nominated for the 53rd International Emmy Awards. The Gala took place on Tuesday in New York City, and it was attended by the Punjabi singer-actor and director Imtiaz Ali. Unfortunately, the film could not bag awards in any of the categories. Amar Singh Chamkila Loses At Emmys

Diljit Dosanjh and Imtiaz Ali represented their film Amar Singh Chamkila at the 53rd International Emmy Awards. Unfortunately, the film could not win any awards. In the best actor category, Diljit lost to Oriol Pla, who was nominated for I, Addict. The actors competing in this category were: David Mitchell, for Ludwig, Diego Vasquez, for One Hundred Years of Solitude. In the TV Movie/Mini-Series category, the film lost to Lost Boys and Fairies. The other films nominated in this category were: Vencer o Morir [Victory or Death] and Herrhausen: The Banker and the Bomb.

For the unversed, Amar Singh Chamkila’s story revolved around the life of the Punjabi folk singer Chamkila. His professional and personal aspects of life. Parineeti Chopra played the role of Chamkila’s wife Amarjot Kaur. The film released in 2024 on Netflix, and was hailed by the critics, and audience. The actors did a phenomenal job with their respective roles.

On the work front, Imtiaz Ali is working on his Netflix series titled O Saathi Re with Aditi Rao Hydari, Arjun Rampal and Avinash Tiwary. As per the news reports, he will also be reuniting with Diljit Dosanjh for a film scheduled to release in 2026.
