Vicky Kaushal Humiliated By Casting Directors
Sham Kaushal, who has spent years in the Hindi film industry, explained that while he was well-established, he knew that his connections wouldn’t necessarily open doors for his sons, Vicky and Sunny. Sham admitted that despite his own reputation, he was realistic that film financiers and casting teams wouldn’t risk large investments on newcomers simply because of family ties. For Vicky, he believed that resilience and hard work would eventually open doors but didn’t intervene personally to get his son roles.
Sham recounted an early instance that highlighted Vicky’s determination. Faced with rejections and advised by others to wait for bigger opportunities, Vicky nonetheless took on a minor role in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. Despite discouragement, he saw the role as a stepping stone, motivated more by the chance to gain experience than by the scale of the role. Sham encouraged him to trust his instincts, as he believed smaller roles could still pave the way for future opportunities. This belief ultimately led Vicky to his breakthrough role in Masaan, where he gained significant acclaim.

Now one of Bollywood’s most promising actors, Vicky is set to appear in Chhaava, an ambitious action drama directed by Laxman Utekar, starring alongside Rashmika Mandanna and other notable actors.
