Varun Dhawan was recently invited to be a guest on comedian Samay Raina’s viral show, India’s Got Latent, but he ultimately turned down the opportunity. In a candid conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the actor opened up about his decision, citing concerns about potential controversy.

Varun Dhawan Says No To India’s Got Latent

The Baby John star revealed that while he enjoys the show’s humor and thrives in that kind of setting, he was mindful of the backlash that could follow. “Samay asked me to be on India’s Got Latent, and I’d love to do it. But the bigger the platform, the more scrutiny there is. I’m not afraid of getting cancelled, but my concern is that my presence could bring unnecessary attention to the show, which might not always be positive,” Varun explained.

Ranveer, known for hosting Bollywood celebrities and public figures on his podcast, urged Varun to reconsider. However, the actor remained firm in his stance. “I’d go on the show in a heartbeat, but I have to consider my teams and the projects I’m promoting. Right now, it’s just not the right time,” he added.

What Is The India’s Got Latent Controversy

Varun’s comments come at a time when India’s Got Latent has been making headlines, not just for its unique format but also for its controversies. The show, which blends comedy with unconventional talent acts, has become a hit online. However, its unfiltered humor has occasionally sparked backlash.

Recently, Ranveer Allahbadia himself faced criticism after making an inappropriate remark while judging a segment on the show. His comment triggered outrage across social media, with many calling him out for crossing the line. Following the backlash, Ranveer issued a public apology. “I shouldn’t have said that. It was wrong and not even funny. I’ve always been mindful of my platform, and I regret this mistake,” he stated in a video message.
