The chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has revealed disturbing details regarding a 25 lakh contract placed to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The document outlines a detailed conspiracy involving gang members associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, currently imprisoned. The plot, primarily aimed at targeting Khan near his Panvel farmhouse, included attempts to source high-caliber firearms from Pakistan.

According to the chargesheet, the plan involved acquiring AK-47s, AK-92s, and M16 rifles, along with the Turkish-made Zigana pistol—known to be the weapon used in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The arms dealer, identified as Dogar, based in Pakistan, was contacted via video call by one of the key conspirators, Sukkha, recently apprehended in Haryana’s Panipat. During the call, Dogar displayed the weapons wrapped in a shawl, and an agreement was reached with a 50% advance payment to be followed by the balance upon delivery in India.

Authorities disclosed that the accused had recruited minors, primarily teenagers, to execute the assassination. These young recruits were hiding across several regions, including Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and parts of Gujarat. The investigation also uncovered that between August 2023 and April 2024, around 60-70 people closely monitored Salman Khan’s movements at his Bandra residence, Panvel farmhouse, and the Goregaon Film City.

More Details

Sukkha allegedly delegated the task to shooter Ajay Kashyap, also known as AK, and four other associates. The chargesheet notes that a detailed recce was conducted by Kashyap’s team, which revealed that the actor’s heightened security measures, including bulletproof vehicles, necessitated the use of advanced weapons for the attack. The police further reported that the plan had the backing of Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. The assassins awaited their approval to proceed with the hit. After the attack, the shooters planned to regroup in Kanyakumari, from where they intended to escape to Sri Lanka by boat before heading to a safe haven beyond the reach of Indian authorities.

The plot came to light during an investigation into the firing incident outside Khan’s Bandra home earlier this year. Following the murder of politician Baba Siddique, security has since been increased around Khan’s Bandra residence.
