Imran disclosed that he was the original choice for iconic roles like that of Sarfaraz in PK, later portrayed by Sushant Singh Rajput, and the character played by Aditya Roy Kapur in Guzaarish, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Additionally, he revealed that he had the opportunity to be a part of Ram Leela but eventually opted out. The actor candidly admitted that the decision not to take these roles was primarily due to other commitments and circumstances at the time.

Reflecting on his career, Imran expressed his sentiments regarding turning down the lead role in Aashiqui 2 during an interview on The Mirza Malik show, where he expressed regret for missing out on such a significant opportunity. He revealed that verbal commitments to other film projects, including one with Akshay Kumar, led him to decline the offer.
