Contract renewals are one of the most important topics in the K-pop world. It leads to never-ending discussions, and one such group whose contract renewal was a hot topic on the internet was I-DLE (formerly known as (G)-IDLE). There were a lot of speculations around it; however, the group’s leader, Soyeon, shared happy news about the members renewing their contracts at the 2024 Melon Music Awards.

After their renewal, they rebranded into I-DLE and just made their comeback and are currently busy promoting it. During one such promotional activity, the group talked about the process of their contract renewal, wherein particularly, Shuhua stated that she almost didn’t renew her contract. Shocked? Us too!

One of the hosts, Heechul from Super Junior, jokingly stated that even quiet Shuhua had consulted a lawyer. Another host, Lee Soo Geun, teased that she seemed ready to walk away. In response, Shuhua nodded and admitted that she had considered leaving but chose to stay because of her bond with the members. Soyeon, the group’s leader, in particular, played a key role in the renewal process.

She took charge of negotiations and carefully reviewed the contract and made changes. The leader even made changes to words to ensure everything felt right. Once a leader, always a leader! Well, fans were impressed with Shuhua’s honesty and Soyeon’s lead and were all praises on the internet. One fan wrote, “Shuhua’s straightforward and fearless nature is what I love the most. To be able to say that on screen is commendable!” Another fan wrote, “Thanks to Soyeon for making changes. We love your leader, Nim.”

On I-DLE’s Comeback

The K-pop group came back with a bang with a mini album titled “We Are’. It includes six tracks: ‘Good Thing’, ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Love Tease’, ‘Chain’, ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘If You Want’.
