Did You Know Diljit Dosanjh Indore Concert Had No Alcohol, Meat Due To THIS Reason?

Diljit Dosanjh’s ongoing Dil-Luminati Tour has been making waves across India, but his recent concert in Indore stood out for an unexpected reason, no alcohol or meat was served at the venue. The decision came after strong protests by the Bajrang Dal, a right-wing Hindu organization, which opposed the sale of these items, citing cultural concerns.

Bajrang Dal’s Protest Against Diljit Dosanjh Concert

The Bajrang Dal voiced its objection a day before the concert, claiming that serving alcohol and meat would go against the cultural ethos of the city. Members of the group also raised concerns about women’s safety and potential incidents of “love jihad,” a term often used in their narratives. Threatening to take to the streets if their demands were not met, the group’s protest led to heightened scrutiny from local authorities. The Indore police took the protest seriously, ensuring that no alcohol was served or consumed openly at the event. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining law and order, addressing drug abuse, and safeguarding women’s security.

This isn’t the first time Diljit’s concerts have faced restrictions or protests. Just last month, his concert in Pune saw similar pushback when the state excise department revoked a permit to serve alcohol. This decision came after objections from political leaders, youth groups, and local organizations. Diljit’s concerts have also faced censorship controversies regarding lyrics. At his Hyderabad concert, the Telangana government banned him from performing songs that referenced alcohol. In response, Diljit creatively adapted his lyrics, replacing alcohol-related terms with soft drink names like Coca-Cola. He also addressed the issue on stage, questioning the selective application of censorship and pointing out the normalization of similar themes in mainstream Indian cinema.
