In 2020, BTS released ‘Dynamite’, a song that became one of their biggest hits. It brought countless new fans into their world. From TV ads to festival playlists, the song was being played everywhere. It was the group’s first song which was entirely in English, which made it a global sensation. However, not everyone loved it, as some fans had mixed feelings about the song.
The song’s style was a shift from BTS’s usual sound, which sparked debates online. While many fans passionately defended ‘Dynamite’ on social media, others felt it didn’t match the group’s deeper, more emotional tracks. Despite the mixed reactions, the song’s success was undeniable. It topped the charts worldwide and earned BTS their first Grammy nomination. But did you know the members weren’t big fans of the song? Well, it was revealed by Jin recently!
During an episode of Netflix’s Screwballs, Jin stated that BTS members weren’t initially fond of the song. With a world tour planned but cancelled due to the pandemic, the group needed a new project. Their agency offered three demo tracks, and ‘Dynamite’ was the first they heard. Later, the members asked for other options but found the alternatives even less appealing. Though they weren’t thrilled, they went with ‘Dynamite’, and it turned out to be a massive hit. Thank god!
